ASISTENCIAL ACTIVITY

The ICU of the Hospital Escuela "Eva Perón" is a multipurpose service with 14 beds with operational capacity to attend to the majority of high-risk pathologies. Approximately 650 critically ill patients are admitted each year from the hospital's area of ​​influence, from other effectors of Rosario and from cities belonging to the Rosario Health Node.

 

Work Systematics

The ICU care activity is in charge of the Doctors on Duty, Deputy Head of Service, Head of Service and Resident Doctors from 08:00 to 17:00 hours and by the Doctors on Duty and Resident Doctor / s on duty of 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the next day.

From Monday to Saturday from 08:00 a.m. to 09:30 a.m. and on Sundays from 09:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the Guard Pass is held, where the outgoing Doctors on Duty inform the rest of the professionals about the news of the day prior and the day's registrations are decided.

From Monday to Saturday from 09:30 to 11:00 hours and on Sundays from 10:30 to 12:00 hours, the Internment Work is carried out.

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Teaching-Assistance Room Pass is carried out next to the bed of the sick, with the Head of Service, Deputy Head of Service, Doctors participating in it. Guard, Medical Specialists, Resident Doctors, Rotating Doctors and the Head of Nursing. In this pass, the guidelines to be followed with specific patients who pose diagnostic and / or therapeutic problems are determined.

From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each group continues with the Hospitalization Work, completing the pending tasks in the morning and everything inherent to the quality control of the ICU (SATI-Q).

From 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Doctors on Duty give the Reports to the relatives of hospitalized patients. The R2s are present in this last task, although without actively participating. For the care task, 2 (two) working groups are constituted to attend a similar number of patients.

Each of them is made up of a first-year Resident (R1) and a second-year Resident (R2), continuously supervised by the Doctor on Call. Doctors from the Hospital or from other healthcare centers with authorized rotations are incorporated into one of the aforementioned working groups. The level of intervention in the care work of these professionals is determined by the Doctor on Duty, the Deputy Chief and the Head of Service according to the skills acquired.
